DISPLAY FUNCTIONS

 (examples utilize and shows an 1.2GHz RF Module)

* START-UP
For few seconds on the LCD will be displayed the Copyright or the message
"I2C DEVICE NOT CONNECTED" will be appear if the I2C cable isn't connected
or in the case of others problem with RF Device: 

 LCD Startup Message

afterwards will be displayed the default Frequency of the RF Module setted in VFO_mode:

 VFO

At successives startup will be displayed Mode and Frequency of the last utilize of module. Also RF device will be setted with these parameters.


 
PLL STATUS
Last letter of the 2nd line of display indicate the PLL status:
 L = PLL locked
           U = PLL not locked (Unlocked)

PLL status is checked at ANY NEW FREQUENCY INPUT and/or VARIATION excited by operator on the Vco Frequency.

 
SELECTION OF VFO or MEMORY MODE
With the utilize of buttons P1,P2 e P3 is possible interact as follows modes:

P3 =      MEMORY mode    /    VFO mode
MEMORY mode                                               VFO mode

  P2 = (+) Incr. Frequency / Memory_Channel
  P1 = (-) Decr. Frequency / Memory_Channel

 Both into VFO and MEMORY mode the buttons (+) and (-) dispose of an incremental  speed to facilitate an easy setup of data.
Into VFO mode this increment will be actived after a  countinouos scan at least 5MHz from initial frequency.
 


MEMORIZATION - REVERSE A MEMORY INTO VFO
 With button P3 pressed for 3 seconds will be displayed: 
in VFO_mode:        VFO > MEMORY_CHANNEL
                       
VFO > MEMORY

  Default Channel Memory will be the first, not utilized, disponible.  It's also possible to change it with (+) and (-) into already used channels so to up to date relative memory's content.
   The confirm of memorization will be activate by the pressure of P3. A total of 48 MEMORY CHANNELS are availables.


in MEMORY_mode:         MEMORY_CHANNEL > VFO
                                  
MEMORY > VFO
                                 in this case will be reversed into VFO the Memory Frequency value previous displayed in MEMORY mode.

 

                     START-UP FUNCTIONS
  Others function are availables at the Startup with the pressure of P1,P2 or P3 as follow summary: 
Pwr_ON+P3 :          Display version
                    Display version
PIC's Display LCD_Interface Software version will be displayed.

 
Pwr_ON+P1+P3 :     SETUP
                    
Setup
  Enter into SETUP where is possible operate on the follows parameters:
 

 STEP                  SETUP - Step
                       definible, with (+) and (-), in 125KHz steps into 125KHz÷1MHz range. Confirming new value with P3.


 OFFSET               SETUP - Offset
              definible, with (+) and (-), in 1MHz steps.  Press at same time (+) e (-) to define value's sign and if
it's to ADDING (+) or SUBTRACT (-) at the effective Vco's Frequency.
                   To confirm new Offset press P3. Offset is useful when RF Module is utilized as Local Oscillator of a Converter.
                     In this manner is Displayed the operative Frequency of Converter. Offset must be setted at 0 into normal use of the RF-Module.
 

MULTIPLY          SETUP - Multiply

                 definible, with only use (loop) of (+) into the range 1÷24. Confirming the Multiply pressing P3.
               This parameter is useful when the armonics contents of a VCO are used to obtain multiply of original and effective frequency or
          rather into frequency multiplyers. MULTIPLY setup influence only the displayed frequency value not the Vco.
           For a normal use this parameter must be setted MULT=1.
 
           Now the Setup phases is terminated and we go back to the normal utilize of  Display.
